10 a.m. - 2 p.m.   Aurora City-Wide Clean Up site for Ward III:  The City of Aurora is hosting a city-wide clean up day by placing dumpsters in each of the six Wards in the city.  The Havana Machine Parking Lot will be the dumpster site for Ward III on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. d This is a free event for Aurora residents.  The Havana Motor Mile is partnering with the city on this clean-up day.  The overall effort is to encourage large or difficult-to-dispose clean up and therefore reduce illegal dumping. Residents and business owners, we encourage you to clean up your properties and bring your yard waste and other items for free disposal in the dumpsters.  We will not acept hazardous items like paint, motor oil, electronic items, tires, or any otherwise regulated waste.  More details coming soon.  To access the free dumpsters, please enter the Havana Machine parking lot from the east side of the property off of South Ironton.

Havana Motor Mile Show & Shine:  Our Havana Motor Mile dealerships will have their very best 4x4 trucks, SUVs and AWD vehicles on display in the officially striped parking spaces in the parking lot at this event.  Winter will be here before you know it, so it might be time for a new or pre-owned vehicle.

Monster Truck on display: Bring the kids to see the monster truck on display in the parking lot at this event.

2 p.m. --New Havana Motor Mile Scholarship Winners to be announced:   We have heard loud and clear from Havana Motor Mile dealership owners and shop managers that there is a shortage of trained automotive technicians.  We are pleased to announce that the Havana Motor Mile is partnering with Lincoln College of Technology on a new scholarship program beginning in 2015.  Students enrolled in the Automotive Technology, Master Certified Automotive Technology and Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology programs at Lincoln Tech are eligible.  Two $3,000 scholarships will go to U.S. Military Veterans and two $3,000 scholarships will go to other students currently enrolled in any of the three programs at Lincoln Tech listed above.  Attendance and GPA will be weighted heavily in the scholarship requirements.  The automotive technician field today requires high-tech computerized and hands-on training which is difficult and expensive.  Our goal with the scholarships in 2015 is motivate and financially help out four good students allowing them to stay the course, complete their training and be available to work at businesses in the Havana Motor Mile.  The scholarship money will go directly to help pay for tuition.  We hope to be able to continue this scholarship program in some form in future years, announcing the winners annually at our September Havana Motor Mile event.  We will be announcing the names of the scholarship winners for 2015 at 2 p.m. at this Havana Motor Mile event on Saturday, September 19, 2015.

Happening inside the Havana Machine Training Room:  We will have specialty 4x4 equipment vendors with their latest hot products and gear on display.  Come meet representatives from Lincoln Tech and the Wounded Warrior Program.  Try your luck at winning gas cards in our bean bag toss tailgating game--get four bean bags in the hole and win a gas card (while they last, no purchase necessary).  Note:  We have moved these events inside so we don't have to fight Mother Nature once again this year.
