9Cares Colorado Shares Holiday Drive
The Gardens on Havana at Mississippi & Havana is the newest site for the 9Cares Colorado Shares Food Drive on Saturday, October 27. This is the 30th year for this great community event. We will be accepting non-perishable food items, toys and clothing from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the parking lot by Buffalo Wild Wings and Wells Fargo Bank.

Epic Journey 2012
The Havana Business Improvement District co-sponsored this Asian Pacific Business Networking Event at the Aurora History Museum on August 15, 2012. Over 150 attended this special event.
Special Guests:
CONSUL GENERAL JEONG GWAN LEE, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco. CG Lee discussed the recent United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
SILOAM BLIND ORCHESTRA, this performing arts group from Korea presented a short program. This unique group is top in their field, selected by a national competition in Korea for their artistic abilities. The group was formed to inspire other disabled people to achieve their dreams in the arts.

Hot Wings Eating Contest at Gibby's Sports Saloon
We celebrated National Hamburger and Hot Wing Month with a Hot Wings Eating Contest at Gibby's Sports Saloon on Friday, May 18, 2012. Dina Pradia, in the red and white shirt, finished her plate of hot wings first and won the $100 cash prize. Dina works at the Summit Rehabilitation and Care Community in the Havana District. Congrats Dina!

Pet Costume Contest at Petco
Petco at The Gardens on Havana in Aurora CO hosted its 3rd annual pet costume contest. First place was a tie between Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and her pet dog and Kinship and Oakie, the German Shepherd and black cat duo dressed up as a Pharaoh and Cleopatra. Second place went to the M&M family including two pet turtles. Third place went to Ditto the 6 month old yellow lab puppy dressed up as a flower garden and her owner dressed as a gardener.

Grocery Cart Races at Safeway
The First Annual Grocery Cart Races took place January 26 at the Safeway on S Havana Street in Aurora, CO. 23 teams raced through Safeway using the private donations they raised to shop for groceries to restock the food pantry at Comitis Crisis Center. What Fun!
